1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

  • Account information: name, email address, and password when you register
  • Property & tenant data: addresses, lease terms, rent amounts, and tenant contact details you enter
  • Payment information: processed securely through Stripe — we do not store card details
  • Usage data: pages visited, features used, and actions taken within the Service
  • Communications: emails and feedback messages you send us

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide, operate, and improve the Service
  • Send transactional emails (rent reminders, maintenance updates, account notifications)
  • Respond to your support requests and feedback
  • Process subscription payments
  • Monitor for security threats and prevent fraud
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on Supabase infrastructure hosted on AWS. We implement industry-standard security measures including:

  • Encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and at rest
  • Row-level security policies limiting data access to authorized users only
  • Secure authentication via Supabase Auth

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but take reasonable steps to protect your data.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the platform:

  • Supabase — database and authentication
  • Stripe — payment processing
  • Resend — transactional email delivery
  • Anthropic (Claude) — AI-powered features
  • Vercel — application hosting

Each provider has their own privacy policy and data processing agreements. Data shared with these providers is limited to what is necessary to provide the Service.

5. Tenant Data

You, as the landlord or property manager, are the data controller for any tenant personal data you enter into the Service. You are responsible for ensuring you have appropriate legal basis and consents to process tenant data. Rentli acts as a data processor on your behalf. We process tenant data only to provide the Service to you and do not use it for any other purpose.

6. AI Data Processing

When you use AI features, relevant data (such as property details or lease information) may be sent to Anthropic's API to generate responses. This data is used solely to generate your requested output and is subject to Anthropic's privacy policy. We recommend not entering sensitive personal information (e.g. full Social Security numbers) into AI prompts.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies required for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this may affect your ability to use the Service.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access: request a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Correction: update inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Deletion: request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Portability: receive your data in a machine-readable format
  • Objection: object to certain processing of your data

9. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your account, we will delete your data within 90 days, except where we are required by law to retain it longer. You may request earlier deletion by contacting us.

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice in the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
